Let me tell you why I adore Dominic Darkmatter. First of all, he is into ladies. And while that alone would not propel someone to the top of my list, what I love is he is a straight ally that is comfortable enough in his skin to be around the gays with absolutely no issue. Shout out to him not being freaked out I stole a peek of him in the locker room. And if you haven't noticed, his artistic talent is incredible. Check out his Flickr stream.

This moment is 6 years in the making and long overdue! Featuring the one-and-only Grant Valeska, it is our first duo shot that he left to yours truly to edit rather than handle with his own amazing skills. To know him is to love him, and I have said on so many occasions he is literally one of the most talented people I have met on the grid. I got to take a bike ride with him in Boystown, and it was such a good time catching up and showing out. He truly is a tour de force!

A lot of my friends this year have escaped to real life, so Second Life has been a bit different. One of my bright spots in this virtual world has been getting closer to Zain. He has become a dear friend: someone who can make me laugh and with whom I can be stupid. He and his boyfriend Juan are so nice and endearing. It's not often you meet someone who doesn't want something more than a plutonic, light-hearted friendship. I'm so glad he decided to celebrate Pride with me!

There is something about the first photo of the year. Despite being at this for over 11 years, I still get excited with the first photo as a new year commences. 2021 taught me a few things, not the least of which is to appreciate the health and well-being of those we love. As long as we have that, we have something to sing about.
This past week I spent some time on the beach finalizing my goals for 2022 for my mind, body and soul. My word for this year is “present.” I want to be more present in my life and take full advantage of the wonderful family and friends around me. Here’s to cooking more, traveling to new places, learning something new and spending less time on work and more time on building deeper, positive relationships. And lastly, here’s to good health for all of us, especially my mom. Much love to everyone and Happy New Year!
